  • The Ohkay Owingeh Tribal Council recently passed Resolution No. 2011-23 authorizing the creation of a Board to oversee the establishment of the First Capital Heritage Center/Ohkay Owingeh Museum. Art Wolf was appointed to the committe that will develop the Bylaws and organizational structure as well as begin the overall project development. Other members include Councilman Herman Agoyo, Councilman Peter Garcia, Jr., Councilman Joe Garcia, Dr. Matthew Martinez, Tomasita Duran, Jamie Blosser, and Josephine Binford.

  • Art moderated a session entitled "Minding your (RF)Ps and Qs" at the Mountain-Plains Museums Association Annual Meeting in Helena, MT October 18th-21st.
  • Art attended the New Mexico Association of Museums annual meeting in Farmington, NM November 2-5.
  • Art was involved in Peer Review last fall for the AAM Accreditation Program
  • Art continued his community service as Board Chair for the Desert Wetlands Conservancy and did pro bono work for the Silver Sage Foundation.
  • Congratulations to Rebecca Schreiber Shreckengast and Faith Sutter, who completed their theses for the MLA in Museum Studies at Harvard with Art's guidance as Thesis Director!
  • Art had a review published: An Odds-On Favorite: The Inaugural Las Vegas Science Festival. The Informal Learning Review, No. 108 (May-June, 2011, pp. 22-23).
  • Congratulations to client Hastings Museum of Natural History, which recently received Accreditation from the American Association of Museums!
  • Art attended the 76th Annual Meeting of the Western Museums Association in Honolulu, HI, September 23-26th.
  • Art attended his 33rd AAM Annual Meeting May 22-25 in Houston.
  • WOLF Consulting was a national sponsor for the third annual Museum Advocacy Day in Washington, DC February 28 - March 1.
  • Art was a juror for the fifth year architecture studio at the UNLV School of Architecture.
  • Art participated in the Accreditation Summit that was held in Chicago February 7-8 to discuss the future of AAM Accreditation.
  • Art delivered a keynote address, "Succession Planning as Board Policy: A Strategy for (Sm)all Museums," to the luncheon meeting of the Small Museums Administrators Committee during the Mountain-Plains Museums Association Meeting in Rapid City, SD, September 13-16.
  • Art presented in the panel session "Politics and How it Impacts Museums"with former South Dakota Senator and 1972 presidential candidate George McGovern and AAM President/CEO Ford Bell during the MPMA meetings.
  • Art moderated a panel discussion on "Locals vs. Tourists: Tourism and the Museum," and presented on the panel "Difficult Departures: Leaving an Executive Leadership Position" during the Western Museums Association conference October 18-20 in Portland, OR.
  • Art led an AAM Accreditation Visiting Committee to a Western Museum seeking subsequent accreditation in late October.
  • Art contributed an essay entitled On the Natural Selection of Museums to the Informal Learning Review No. 103, July-August 2010, pp.9-10.
  • Art contributed Case Study commentary to an article titled Looking at the Big Picture, in Board Member Vol. 19(3), May/June 2010, pp. 16-19, @boardsource.org.
  • Art attended the 104th Annual Meeting of the American Association of Museums, Museums Without Borders, from May 23-26 in Los Angeles.
  • As Chairman, Art announced the launch of the new website for the Desert Wetlands Conservancy on May 12th. www.desertwetlands.org
  • Art led an AAM Accreditation Visiting Committee to a Midwestern museum seeking subsequent Accreditation in mid-April.
  • WOLF Consulting was a major sponsor of the AAM’s second annual Museum Advocacy Days on March 22-23 in Washington, DC, and Art attended as the Chair of the MPMA Advocacy Committee.
  • Art presented in a session entitled Take This Job and Love It, at the Texas Association of Museums conference in College Station on March 16th.
