It is so important that we give back to the career that has been good to us. That is why Art has always served on boards, grant panels, program committees, and presented at conferences at the regional, national, and international levels. He served in the 90s and early 2000s as a member of the first nationally elected class of AAM Board members and as an Accreditation Commissioner. Recently he has become very active in advocating for the role of museums in local, state, and national contexts.
